Can someone explain to me why we are so fond of drop shadows in Design. I mean I like clean cool sites like everyone else, but is it a bot overdone? Can the design community come up with something else?

I am still baffled by the fact that cops still chase skaters around. Whyyi do they do that?
“Whyyi” do people attach their entire address book in the cc field, when sending an e-mail? I often get e-mails that contain 60-100 e-mail addresses. I would be pissed if someone randomly gives out my e-mail address to the entire world. It seems such a simple thing to avoid, but many people still do this. Is it because they are not educated? Maybe they don”t care? or perhaps no has told them about this. I feel it is up to us to educate these people, before i pull my hair out again.
